Born Vintage Collectables and Old Wares

We paid a flying visit to my parent's Saturday afternoon and I couldn't resist a peek at my favourite shop just around the corner. Born Vintage Collectables and Old Wares, Elrington Street Braidwood, is the most wonderful place. The building once operated as the old Maternity Hospital. My father was born there.
The floors are still lined with the original linoleum. This one is mint green with sprays of pink and yellow roses....isn't it divine?
The rooms are packed with treasures.

This cupboard was so cute and a very unusual size; it was wide and squat.

Don't you just love the way everything was recycled in bygone years; an old grain sack was given a new lease of life with a strip of floral fabric and turned into an apron.

Love this Ansonia housing turned into a display case.
Below are my take-home finds:

Love this large scoop, bought for Mr T and the old Beauty and the Beast book is so gorgeous!

OMG! Could you not just die over these, well I nearly did..two very old hat pin holders, the perfect shade of pink and trimmed with the smallest glass beads. (**click on image for a larger peek**)

I couldn't resist this sweet little Dolls Nursing Set box, could you? and how fantastic are these original 1950's paper napkins, in the perfect pastel shades. I have an idea for these, check back later to see what they become :)

If you ever get the chance to stop in, do so, you won't be disappointed. Julia, the proprietor, is just lovely and the store is packed with wonderful vintage clothes, furniture and bits and pieces.

Until next time, happy hunting :)
