Collections: Thorne's Toffee Tins

This is one of my favourite collections, these toffee tins were made by Henry Thorne & Co. Limited of Leeds, England, and most date to the c1930's. Each of these tins have different variations; the image of 'SPOT' the dog and the little girl are different on each tin and some of the wording is embossed on others. I haven't tried a toffee yet, I think they still make them so I will track some down on our UK trip.

Yay its Saturday!.....Hope you have a wonderful weekend :) We are having a celebratory birthday dinner for our Father tonight...Happy Birthday Dad for Monday :)

p.s. Check out Alicia's blog @ Time Worn Style to see the photos of the first day of the Shabby Vintage Junk Extravaganza. Wow, it looks great!

I love these tins too, I have seen them but usually in poor condition. I didn't realise there were all the variations.

Thank you for mentioning the SVH Extravaganza here in Melbourne. I am the Mum of Shelley (she hasn't got her blog set up yet) who also had a booth at SJV where we met Alicia, The Pink Poodle and everyone. It sounds like a great blogging and bonding time. All thanks to the wonderful Tamara whose blog is Shabby Vintage Junk. Good trading, grat swapsies!

Blessings and bliss

Hey Tamara -- Thanks for your nice comment on our post; wish you could come sometime! LOVE the tins. I've been collecting Royal Family ones this summer. We've also got a cute group for sale right now -- common ones, but great for stashing stuff. Have a terrific week. xo
