Checking blog for Malware

I did a quick check this morning to see if my site has been hit with any malware as my account may have been hacked. If you would like to check yours here is the link:

http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://your-blog-name.blogspot.com

My results were all good and dandy:

Thanks for understanding my need to reinstall the verification code. Katherine, I really don't know why it is now two words and such stupid long ones at that! They are a right royal pain aren't they?

I also don't expect you to comment on this post, I just wanted to share the link.

Happy blogging everyone, T x

Sorry folks, I have had to reinstate the word verification to my comments. I have been hit with spam nearly everyday since I disabled it and today my blog was deactivated due to suspicious activity. I know its a pain in the derriere but its better to be safe than sorry.

Annual Bywong Car Boot Sale

The annual Bywong sale has come and gone for another year....
(Playing the Rocky theme song... da na na...) Kade with his massive blowup boxing gloves
It was so big this year they even had the clowns...
and the most massive scones ever for $3 each with cream and jam.
We did not intend on buying any furniture until we saw this. An oak witness box that came from the old Canberra Courthouse. It will make the most fantastic bar don't you think? $200 smackeroos

It's funny as the lady who delivered it to our house asked me if I used to live in Canberra as she recognised me. Apparently she worked at the local supermarket before we moved 11 years ago. Small world. No I didn't recognise her..haha
Of course we came home with a few smalls...Dutch Pokerwork Tray $2...
Pear's Shilling Cyclopaedia c1913...
with a movable Southern Hemisphere Star Chart...
and the most amazing lithographs, purchased from the local Rotary Stall for $1.
1880's Starkey Sydney Torpedo bottle (missing the head) $1...
Miss Muffet cup $2...
Large Dunster Castle transfer ware mug $1...
Enamel Push Sign and old wooden die ($5 and $1)...
Old cigarette cards $5...
Casserole dishes x2 ($4)...
Dingo Flour sack 50 cents.

So there you have it. Did you stay to the end?  I know it was a very long post.  Have a great night and don't let the bed bugs bite.

A Spot of Miniature Decorating

Today we:
Bought a new pet budgie named Snowy...
And glued him inside a tiny birdcage with a dove for company...
Sat him near a new white ceramic clock and flower painting...
Hung a new chandelier in the bedroom...
Bought a yummy horse shoe cake, grapes and an original mesh covered cake stand...
Decorated the xmas tree with baubles, I wonder if it is bad luck to have it out so early?
The bedroom is the most complete room so far...
The bathroom is awaiting a slate floor, a sink and the mirror to be hung...
We fitted the butler sink in the freestanding kitchen...
Are waiting to hang the flying ducks and added a wooden wall clock...tick tock...
You would think these chocolates are real, well a mouse did! It has eaten the foil from the faux chocolate, bloomin thing!
Items mentioned were purchased today at the 2012 ACTME Miniature Fair and Doll House Show. You can see last years purchases here and our dollhouse progress here, here, here, here and here.

Back soon...we are hitting the car boot tomorrow and have a couple of things to show you from our op shop finds today :) T x

Under the Sea: Newly Listed On Etsy

I finally got around to making a few necklaces from the sea creatures that I picked up last week. I knew straight away that I was going to turn them into jewellery and ordered my supplies. I've used a silver plated eye screw to secure each little creature and attached to a silver plated 24 inch bead chain. I have also made a few earrings and rings.

My workmate was joking about the sea cucumber and I said that I would wear it into work once I made it. I am going to gift him one for his wife as I had two, I am sure she will love it..haha

They will be available (minus a few keepers) via my Etsy store, ATreasuredPast. Here is a sneak peek:

It's all go, go,  go for the next few weekends. We are going to the ACT Miniature Fair and Doll House Show in the morning and then to the annual Bywong Car Boot on Sunday. Next week is the Goulburn Swap Meet where we shall pay a flying visit before heading back to Canberra for a party at midday.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy whatever you have planned!

All That Sparkles

We took a detour to the Mitchell Tip Shop on the way to the movies on Sunday, with many moans and groans I might add..haha. It was recently taken over the same mob that run Tiny's Green Shed in Mugga Lane so I was keen to check it out.

India and I got lost in the bead/jewellery bucket just inside the door, while the fellas checked out the back. Kade informed me that he did the rounds and there was nothing good out there, so I took his word for it. He is pretty good at spotting treasure.

At the bottom of the tub, I saw a bead, then another, then another. At this point I had to find a little container to pop them in, after about 10 minutes we fetched out all the little beads. They just happen to be mercury glass beads from a broken Christmas garland. I quizzed the Mr, but he had no idea what they were, so -10 points for him.

In January, I purchased the most fantastic vintage head piece adorned with mercury beads from ebay. Although lots of beads were missing I fell in love with it. I knew straight away that I could add to some of the missing pieces with the new beads.

I have added a few before and after shots. I have not filled it all in, but just added bits here and there, I think it is quite beautiful as is. What do you think?

Parts of Ghost Rider 2 was very silly, and India had to hide her eyes, because it was too scary, but it was pretty good. If you like Idris Elba (aka Luther) than you will enjoy his character and there was even a couple of chuckles (only from me mind you).  India thought it was great (the bits she saw), Kade liked the first one better, and the Mr thought is was rubbish...you can't please everyone :)

Enjoy your week, T x
