Goulburn Swap Meet '09

After discovering the Goulburn Swap Meet a few years ago, it is now an annual ritual. It starts early at 6am in the dark, we usually leave at this time and arrive closer to 7am. It is one of the largest Swap meets in Australia and vendors travel from all over the country and the locals clear their sheds selling odds and bobs. It has been running for 23 years, more information can be found here.

The 'Collectors', an ABC production featuring collectors around Australia, filmed an episode while we were there, although we were too busy looking for treasures of our own to spot them.

Here is what we bought:

  • Dog statue (Fibreglass) $10
  • Dog pepper pot $1
  • Trophy 1938 $5
  • German bisque vase $8
  • Victorian glass case $5
  • Beaded jug cover $5
  • Leather aviation cap and gloves (worn all morning by the other half) $10
  • German crinoline lady figurine $15
  • 2 original bird water colours $20
  • Transferware comport $15
  • Sweetacres mint tin $10
  • Vintage pink basket $2
  • Sylvac stork vase c1960 $35
  • Green laundry trolley and vintage wicker basket (not pictured) $17
  • Metal lions foot (not pictured) $15
  • Plant stands x 2 (not pictured) $45
