The time has come to say goodbye to my little blog. I'd just like to say thank you to each and everyone of you who has passed through here and shared your friendship. Its been a part of me for the past three years, but now I think its time for a new change and a new focus.

Treasured Finds: Gorgeous French Fans

I promised you some treasures last week, so I hope I don't disappoint.

My beautiful french fans arrived this week. They are so delicate and not in the best condition and I just love them. They are hand painted on very fine mesh and sit atop gorgeous carved wooden handles.

To keep them out of the way and to prevent more damage, I looped a stitch over the wooden handles onto an open frame that I has earlier backed with an old coffee sack. I am sure they would look beautiful if professionally framed and behind glass, but I am happy with this setup for the moment. They look right at home with my other french pieces, don't you think?

Have you found any treasures lately?

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of the week whatever you have planned. Tam x

September Makers Market

It was a great day at the Mini Makers Market hosted by Little Finch, and a few new pieces have found loving homes. It was nice to get some feedback on the new pieces. I also recognise that I now need to add a little price sticker to each piece to prevent confusion when I leave my little helpers in charge.

The Next Braidwood Maker's Market is only a month away and I am sharing my table with Little Miss who will be selling her original artwork, posters, cards and bookmarks - as well as her jewellery pieces that she made earlier.

She is going from strength to strength in her art, so I hope she does well. Here is a little collage of a few pieces she has been working on. As you can see her artwork is influenced by the Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time and she has a new series of cute fox designs.

Its a glorious day today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and next week I promise to be back with some more interesting treasured finds xx

Where the Wild Thing Grow

I've been trying to keep my stamp jewellery and blog separate, but I wanted to show you the new pieces I have been working on. Only genuine stamps are used.

I will be testing out the waters with my new designs and product ranges next weekend (Saturday 17th) at the mini market hosted by Little Finch, who are celebrating their 2nd birthday.

If you are local, I'd love to see you there :) If you can't make the mini market, we will be at the Braidwood Markets Market on September 14th and December 14th.

They call me Willy...Wagtail that is.

Blue Fairy Wren.

Bird pendants, rabbit and fox brooches.

Foxy Loxy...looking a little worn out.

Wooden bird pendants.
The weekend is fast approaching. Enjoy :) Tam x

It's me again.

A very rare photo of me...on the way to work this morning...wearing one of the new pendants in my stamp jewellery range...don't worry I wasn't driving :)

Yay! Its Wednesday night, my favourite night of the week...no more work until Monday...and watching Pretty Little Liars. Could it get better?

Enjoy the rest of your week, whatever you have planned. Tam x

Speedwell Fury

This year was supposed to be the year of the caravan - the caravan is yet to be started -  instead it's turned out to be the year of the dragster.

A couple of years back C. bought his first dragster at a local swap meet and he has been collecting and restorating them ever since. In all he has well over 12 bikes + frames. At present we have one bike in the loungeroom, two in the kitchen, one in the laundry along with the additional frames - these are just the better ones in the house!

One of his favourite bikes is his Mk 2 Raleigh Chopper. His next projects include a Raleigh Dominator he recently bought and a Mk 2 Chopper prismatic frame which he just purchased from England. He is also on the lookout for a Sears Screamer.

Here is his blurb of his latest ready to ride Speedwell Fury - with before and after photos.

Speedwell were a Sydney bike company similar to Malvern Star (Melbourne based) both were eventually bought by Raleigh. You don't see them around much. The main Speedwell bikes were Mustang and the Fury. Instead of Sturmey Archer it has Shimano bits also features a rear disc brake. I don't know why they did that it was very hard to source a threaded hub for the disc.

Here are a few pictures of the restoration.

Wall pocket

Do you have posts from yonks ago just sitting in your post drafts, or are you spontaneous and post as you go? Here is one I prepared earlier. Ha!

Isn't this gorgeous? I picked it up a few months ago at a local Op Shop. It's pottery and although a little tatty, some of the flowers are chipped, it is so pretty. It is signed on the back but unfortunately I can't make it out. It is hanging on my kitchen wall.

If you go down to the woods today....

I love Typo! I couldn't resist these cute cases; one for me (bear), one for India (cat) and one from the discount bin (raccoon). They are only $9.95 - the raccoon was priced at $1.00 as it is missing the zipper pull which is an easy peasy fix. They are the perfect size to pop in a little money and a phone ready for a quick jaunt to the shops.

Enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend! xx

p.s. thanks for your support of our village heritage petition :)

Save our Heritage Buildings - Bungendore

Our local council have earmarked two heritage homes on the main thoroughfare through town to be removed or demolished. In their place they propose to build a new supermarket and carpark (we already have one supermarket that is in the planning stages of an extension).

The village of Bungendore is a 15 minute drive away from the nearest regional centre where there are three major supermarkets. Drive a little further (30 minutes in total) and you will find yourself in the Australian Capital, Canberra.

The local community have started a petition to try and save our heritage buildings:

You can also read the article in the Sydney Morning Herald below:

Sometimes I can't help myself!

I know most women have a thing for shoes, I don't have that many pairs, but when I saw these shoes I REALLY had to have them. They are small, French and the prefect colour. Mr APT thought I was mad, spending money on shoes I couldn't wear, but I said I will wear them on my fingers..hehe

They were originally from a French male boudoir doll. I could just picture him with white stockings, a silk jacket and white wig.  I love the lace trim and tiny buckles.

What have you bought lately that you just had to have?

Enjoy your weekend and the school holidays if you have them. Bye for now, Tamara x

Powerpuff Girl Mad!

Hi, thanks for the warm welcome back. Its been nice to hear from you all.

I just wanted to show you a few pictures that India has been drawing in photoshop - all drawn with the mouse. Lately she's obsessed with the Powerpuff Girls - you know the ones, saving the world before bedtime? Bubbles is her favourite, can you tell?

It's hard to believe that she just turned 9!

Thanks for stopping by. xx

New Treasures

I hope this posts finds you all well! It's been ages since I popped in last, did you realise I was gone? Just back to say a quick hello and show you a few new pieces too...always the collector!

I've been adding to my Victorian Mother of Pearl Shell Coin Purse Collection
and Jewellery Caskets
Bought a box a clock parts at the tip and rebuild this clock!
A few new Bonzo's, including a hard to find mustard pot

some more ladies

My mannequin now wears a new bridal stand hat. I've run out of room.
Would you believe this chair came from the tip? It dates to around 1850 and is made of papier mache with mother of pearl inlay. Its as light as a feather.

Close up of the japanned papier mache, gilt paint and MOP inlay

Some exciting news, I was commissioned to make Sir Donald Bradman stamp jewellery pieces for the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame, Bowral, NSW. They were posted today, and I hope they do well.

Thanks for visiting! Tam x
