We had our first stall in a long time yesterday at the Braidwood Markets. The weather gods were on our side and we had a sunny spot to set up, although Mr T said his toes had frost bite. We had lots of lookie loos and a few good sales, so not bad for a winter market. Click to view bigger images.
I also came home with 3 vintage eiderdowns..hehehe
Hope you enjoy a relaxing Sunday, T x

Chicky Chook takes Residence
Hi treasure lovers near and far, I hope this post finds you all well.
I bought this little chap today, as I found him too cute to resist, with the full intention of selling him on. I showed him to Mr T when we got home and he said that I 'must not sell it!'. What? Looks like he will be taking up permanent residence with his new name Chicky Chook.
Have a good week!

Bbrr...it's getting cold
It was so cold last Sunday morning that our pipes were frozen. When I checked the temperature at 7:00am it was only -5.6 deg c, and its not even winter yet. They didn't unfreeze until 10am and I had to wait patiently to start the washing machine. Last year our pipes only froze twice and that was in the middle of winter! I think we are in for a cold one.
I am getting worried as we have booked our spot at the Braidwood Markets on the 28th May and being outdoors, I think we are going to freeze!
Wish us luck and a sunny day :)

Indias 7th Birthday Party 2011
My Lord...well, we did it! We survived India's first sleepover party. With 4 girls sleeping over (many for their first ever sleepover apart from family) it was a very interesting and tiring night! They were still talking when we went to sleep ~ 10:30, and were up at 5:30 while it was still dark.
Kade got his comeuppance though as the girls turned his light on while he was sleeping this morning and woke him up for a change. He is normally the one to wake everyone else up in the house. He was quite bleary eyed, so I had a good laugh.
There were a few moans and groans, most weren't even from me..haha. And a few girl fights, girls are soooo high maintenance!!!
And there was a lot of, 'Your house is very old, and your paintings...you should move!" and "why do you have all these old things" and 'it is all old and grubby"...we were counting down the hours for pickup (11:00am) although most parents were 1/2 hour late and the kids didn't want to go home.
We have come to the conclusion that boys are sooo much easier for a sleepover and Mr T has decided that we should never do it again...until next year..hahaha
India is very tired and emotional as I type and will be going to bed very soon! O.k.., now she is having a meltdown, gotta run! Bye.

Puppets
Another little peek into my cabinet.
15 years ago there was a Teddy and Doll show in Canberra. They were doing free appraisals, 1 per person. I had two teddies and the mohair Sooty puppet above so my mum and I had a teddy each and my dad stood in line with the sooty. The lady who was appraising Sooty commented that he seems very well loved and that dad must have played with him a lot.....my dad embarrassingly said 'yes'. Truth be told, I bought him at an antique store only a year or two before. We had a good laugh and I will never forget that day..now I can't even remember what he was appraised for.
The hand puppet next to him is a Charlie McCarthy and goes with my ventriloquist collection. He is stamped Edgar Bergens Charlie McCarthy Inc, Made in the USA with a cloth body and composition head with plastic monocle, c1930's.
The clown and the heads are composition and were probably part of a Punch and Judy set. Mr T said that he 'must have' the clown puppet when I bought them on ebay...as you know he loves clowns.
Sandy McBoozle was a xmas present long past from Mr T in his original box. He is a vintage Pelham Puppet made in England, c1947-1955.
Bye for now, have a lovely day.......

What you can make with a jumble of letters!
Sometimes the word verification spits out the most amazing jumble of letters, I was a bit taken aback when I saw this one..hahaha
Would you believe that there is a definition for this word in Urban Dictionary, Lordy! I think you can guess the meaning.
Have a vagical..I mean magic day :)

Happy Mother's Day
A poem my father remembers from his mother Jessie:
M - O - T - H - E - R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.
Howard Johnson (c. 1915)
Happy Mothers Day, Tam x
