Once upon a time....

While rummaging around my cupboards I found my little stash of jewellery I made long ago (in my past life I started a Visual Arts Degree, majoring in Jewellery and Silversmithing, but left to pursue other avenues. Now I am a database manager and work with computers all day, how did that happen???).

I have always enjoyed hand making items, and it is something that I encourage the kids to do too. I thought you might like to see a few of my bits and bobs.

The first is a series of rings; the two geometric shapes are made with resin and cut on the lathe. The bases are silver. The silver pieces were cast from mushrooms (a ring and brooch). The last rods are cufflinks, made from aluminum, hand cut on the lathe and then anodized.

I know the yellow ring looks like a pencil and is very deadly....hahaha

I hope you have enjoyed something a little different,

bye for now, T x

@Nelly
Hi Nelly, I do enjoy making stuff, and have a few things listed in my Etsy store. I wouldn't say that I love my job, but I do enjoy parts of it, and I like the people that I work with, which is important. Thank you for your sweet comments. Tam x

Hi Tam, struuth you're a clever one, those rings are amaaazzing, when l first looked at the pics l thought geez how come l've never come across anything that cool, but after l read it l realised why. It's so strange where life takes us hey.. it's hardly ever where we imagined ourselves, but not necessarily in a negative way. My Mum was a nurse and l swore l would never become one.....you guessed it.. l'm a nurse, what...how.? Anyway lordy l go on....Thank you for sharing such inspirational, creative designs with us l've loved seeing them. Thanks for letting me know about the cancellation of the Chasers, damn protocol. Well hopefully someone will entertain us while we wait for the big unveiling.haha! Have a fabulous weekend Tam. Bron.
