You know its Spring when....

We can't walk down the street without being dive bombed by a magpie....little blighters. We had one safe route to the shops on foot, now apparently that has been compromised too...great!

We have to watch out for these. The Bungendore area is known for Tigers Snakes. They are venomous. We had one in our backyard when we moved in and are quite often sighted at the school...nice!

You hear the distinctive call of the plover....I pity the poor sole who marks the nests with little flags in the grass around the building where I work...they have a spur on their wings...nice!

We also have one of these, a blue-tongued lizard, which we do like. They eat the snails. They don't bite unless you pick them up but they just give you a fright when they are rustling around the garden.

I know what you mean Tamara. I found out the other day that Plovers just don't dive for your head like magpies. They come straight for you with no regard for your eyes, ears or whole body for that matter!

Changing my routine walk this morning for sure !!
(Just hope no-one was watching.) :) :)

That snake is scary! I can't believe it is spring there, while it is Fall here.

Oh Tam I HATE magpies....I have VIVID memories of riding my dragster to school with a bucket on myhead waving a bloody stick around....You know the buggers LOVE red hair....!!

The weekend is but 2.46mins away for me....!

Cheers from 'tpdj',
Tam :o)

Hi guys, we are off with our trusty sticks in a moment, we have to battle our way to the post office...where the worst magpie is..great!

Tamarah, I think they aren't too fussy about hair colour, they attack everything that moves. Poor India is usually the one who copes it and she has light brown (with golden streaks she says..hehe).

I agree with you Pam, Plovers are the worst!!! And yeas, the snakes are scary too!!

A big hello to our Autumn buddies. see you, T x

It is a pity that just when it starts getting pretty and the weather starts warming up, that the magpies come out. I've been lucky so far. I haven't been swooped by a magpie once. But you did forget one bad thing about Spring - the moths start coming out. I can't stand moths.

@Liz Hi Liz, we use to get masses of the big bogone moths during their migration around work (Symonston ACT). The don't bother me too much though. I hate the mozzies, the eat me alive.
