Map Door



While I was flicking through my stash of magazines in bed, I came across this idea in the March Country Living magazine, UK edition. Ooohh, I thought, what a wonderful idea for the plain door in the granny flat, next to my craft corner. I have been collecting vintage Atlas's for a while too, I pick them up for a $1 or so and I love the pastel pinks, greens and yellows in the older maps. I simply added some double-sided tape to each corner and stuck down firmly. They can be removed easily enough later on if we so desire. Looks so much better don't you think?

    @vintage mumHi Cate, I think Selina Lake (Stylist) has a wall featured using big wall paper pieces in her latest book, and has also been published in the BBC Home and Antiques magazine I think ??

    OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
    I have some old and out of date atlases (spelling?!) from school that were going in the bin, I think with a bit of aging they would be perfect and FREE wallpaper in my son's bedroom...can I pinch your idea? xxx

    Oh Tamara what a FABULOUS idea....I LOVE your door....!!!

    I bought a HEAP of large maps back from my trip....You've inspired me to create a little 'worldy' magic of my own....!!
