We do have hedgehogs in our area though and they can often be spotted trotting down the road - they move really quickly.two bones and a baglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07115881963592810957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5502546956593314476.post-76116548841110770702011-10-12T05:00:21.697+11:002011-10-12T05:00:21.697+11:00Hi Tamara. I trod on a bumble bee when I was 6, I have such a vivid memory, of it hurting like hell, my Grandad picking me up and putting me in his kitchen sink, and washing my foot in vinegar, I can even smell the smell!. I cried alot not because of the pain but I knew I killed the bee. I have a deep fondness for bees xxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13831452606024076452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5502546956593314476.post-42868840410430720592011-10-11T20:39:23.485+11:002011-10-11T20:39:23.485+11:00That bumble bee is awesome, he looks so fluffy! That bumble bee is awesome, he looks so fluffy!Barn House Antiqueshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04062860226479389943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5502546956593314476.post-18771189936334995732011-10-11T20:39:22.266+11:002011-10-11T20:39:22.266+11:00This so beats my trip to Dubbo xx Ava ( Good to ha...This so beats my trip to Dubbo xx Ava ( Good to have you back ! )Avahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09293340044763260388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5502546956593314476.post-77958692199683696992011-10-11T20:25:58.181+11:002011-10-11T20:25:58.181+11:00Hi Tam - we only ever seem to see dead badgers the...Hi Tam - we only ever seem to see dead badgers these days and hedgehogs too. My litle man is desperate to see a live hedgehog. The bumble bee certainly does sting but only in defence or if harmed. The honey bee has a barbed stinger that is left in your skin and then the bee dies but the bumble bees stinger is not barbed and so it can sting more than once. Although some people can have quite a severe allergic reaction most people just have a sore, red swelling. I didn't realise that you don't have them in Oz! The squirrels may look cute but they are vermin and do a lot of damage as we found out when they decided to nest in our lost space!
